Pumping principle

As non-contacting, rotating positive displacement pumps, rotary lobe pumps can pump a wide variety of liquids and media reliably.
The two counter-rotating, elastomer-coated lobes guarantee sealing, in all piston positions, between the suction and discharge sides of the valveless positive displacement pump. The medium is pumped gently. The pump has many positive characteristics:

  • Variable flow direction
  • Self-priming
  • Resistant to dry running
  • Resistant to foreign matter
  • Compact design
  • low space requirement
  • Speed-proportional delivery rate
  • Gentle pumping

Rotary lobe pump operating principle: Rotary lobe pumps deliver the medium directly, can change the direction of flow and prime actively. The lobe principle makes them suitable for particularly gentle pumping.
